Q- Why lease an MFP device vs purchasing one?

A- Leasing conserves capital. Instead of tying up your money in a capital equipment purchase, which can tie up your cash flow, a lease allows you to pay for your purchase with low monthly payments. “Buy what appreciates, lease what depreciates!

 
Q- Why lease a colour MFP product?
A- Colour has been the fastest growing segment in the photocopier world. The affordability of colour has allowed many companies to eliminate expensive colour laser printers and deploy full multifunctional copier devices.
 
Q- What is a “true” multi-function device?
A- A true multi-functional device is one that can perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Many manufacturers promote their devices as “multi-functional” because the device has a scanner/fax/printer etc. BUT, they cannot perform all the tasks at one time. One task (ie fax) has to be completed before another (ie scan) can be started. At IDS all of our MFP devices are truly multifunction.
 
Q- Can I upgrade my machine at anytime when I am leasing the device?
A- Yes – but please keep in mind that if a lease is re-written anytime before its expiry date, there will be a portion of the outstanding principle that may have to be rolled into the new agreement.
 
Q- Why not just buy the cheapest?
A- Simply put, “You get what you pay for”. Like automobiles/homes/etc, there are many different types of copiers being manufactured today. The differences can be HUGE. Engine life, performance and the ability to maintain connectivity to your network are just a few issues to consider when looking at acquiring a new device.
 
Q- Why not buy directly from the manufacturer?
A- There are defining differences between an independent dealer and a Direct Manufacturer. The choice between the two may come down to some of the following reasons. With an Independent Dealer any vital or crucial decisions can be made immediately, you don’t have to wait for decisions that affect your business to filter down through layers of people working in different time zones. When dealing with a Manufacturer, vital Parts and Supplies are usually held in a warehouse hundreds of kilometers away. With an Independent Dealer, they are stored on site and we can react to any emergency quickly. The personal touch: a manufacturer’s corporate criteria and employee turn-over rates can prevent relationships from being established. With an Independent Dealer who employs people in our area, personal relationships are an essential part of how we do business. We live and work in the same business environment as our customers and retain the knowledge for future consultation of your office needs.
 
Q- What is true “local service”?
A- Although all companies have service technicians that work in your area, TRUE local service providers are those that take your phone call for service issues locally and have parts and supplies stored locally. They are not in a call centre in Halifax shipping supplies overnight from Toronto!
 
Q- How important is a photocopier for my office?
A- That question can only be answered by you. How efficient and productive is your office when the copy/print/scan/fax device is inoperable? The goal to running the most productive and cost efficient workplace is to place the most productive and efficient multi-function device in your office.
 
Q- Why should I get a maintenance contract?
A- Even the most high-end products have their bad days. Maintaining a service agreement gives you the piece of mind that, if the device experiences some sort of failure, a certified and factory trained technician will be available to solve the problem and keep the device running at peak efficiency. A maintenance contract can ensure the highest caliber output from your device.
